Hobbit Kayak Tour

Quick & easy instant bookings for Pelorus Eco Adventures

For scenery and Hobbit fans alike
Based in Havelock town of the Marlborough Sounds, only a half hour from both Picton and Blenheim - feel like you're part of a new world with the 'Barrel Run' kayaking tour on the beautiful Pelorus River. This fully guided trip takes you through the exact same locations as where the wild river barrel scene in “The Hobbit – The Desolation of Smaug” was filmed - see where Kili was shot, where the dwarves exited the barrels and kayak pass the same waterfall as shown in the movie!

This is the most tangible kayaking Hobbit activity in the whole world – a real LOTR fans dream! And being an easy level kayaking tour, anyone and everyone can enjoy this experience.

Explore the very famous South Island New Zealand Hobbit location on our river kayaking journey! Drink the 10,000 year old natural spring water that flows from the mountains into the wild Pelorus river while you stand where Sir Peter Jackson and his film team made this great movie, and paddle yourself along the Hobbit river in inflatable kayaks.

Tours depart at 9.00am & 2.00pm daily.
