Whether you are wanting to experience a family adventure, there’s something for everyone, including a gentle grade 2 scenic raft trip suitable for participants as young as 5 or take to the rapids in the grade 3-4 Rangitaiki rafting.
* Rangitaiki Grade 2 Scenic Rafting:
Ideal for families or those looking for a more relaxed rafting adventure, the Lower Rangitaiki Scenic trip offers gentle rolling rapids that never rise above Grade 2 whilst you get to enjoy spectacular scenery with cascading waterfalls tumbling into the river, beautiful forest views and sheer rock gorges clad in native bush.
The Lower Rangitaiki Scenic Trip takes around 1 ½ hours on the water but you should allow around 5 1/2 hours in total, including travelling to and from Rotorua, Lunch (included), training etc.
Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
* Rangitaiki Rafting - Grade 3-4:
The Rangitaiki Whitewater rafting experience is a great way to spend the day for those looking for a little adventure, no experience necessary!
Combine spectacular scenery and great rapids for an awesome whitewater rafting adventure. From the buzz of 'Geoff's Joy', a torrent of whitewater, to stunning native and plantation forest, the Rangitaiki River has it all!
All safety equipment and lunch provided.
- Suitable for all active people aged 13 years and over (children as young as 10 years old can be taken, but conditions apply).
Both tours depart daily from 11.30am at the River Rats Muapura river base, just 45 minutes out of Rotorua on State Highway 38. Or around 10.30am (approximately one hour before the trip time) from Rotorua (complimentary pick up is available from your central Rotorua accommodation).
